dear summer

I shall miss you and all the long, sometimes-warm days that you bring. The heady smell of sun-baked earth receiving the rain. The strong colours of ripe-for-the-picking fruit and green all around of bushes and trees and shade-protected grass. Lazy Mr Blackbird, fanning out his wings to catch some sun, blissfully ignoring our feline friends. The exhilaration of holiday travels and Les Soldes and finally wearing shorts again…
